Dear Colleagues,
A new National Science Board brief on the science and engineering landscape asks, “How can we ensure U.S. leadership in critical and emerging technologies and a robust STEM workforce?” (NSB, 2004). Preservice STEM teacher education is a component of the solution. This month’s Spotlight on Preservice Teacher Education delves into the importance of projects’ work at the preservice level, including key considerations for preservice education and approaches to connecting preservice education and in-service classroom practice.
New DRK-12 projects are being awarded fast and furiously! See the list of awards made since fall of 2023, and stay tuned for additional project announcements in the coming months.
Drs. Lani Horn and Terrell Morton are back with the new season of their popular video podcast for prospective and current awardees. If you missed the first season of Uncovering the Hidden Curriculum of DRK–12, visit the CADRE YouTube playlist to hear their tips for enhancing your grant writing. Season 2, Breaking Through the Bureaucracy, focuses on different aspects of leading NSF projects. Watch the first episode for insights about project management and managing teams.
Best,
The CADRE Team
