The Research+Practice Collaboratory will host a free webinar, "Mobile Technology and Early Math Learning: A Design-Based Implementation Research Approach," featuring presentations by EDC's Pamela Buffington and William Penuel of the University of Colorado-Boulder. During the webinar, participants will discover how education stakeholders, school and classroom leaders, mathematics education faculty, and non-profit partners are collaboratively investigating critical strategies and approaches designed to improve math learning and teaching in K-3 classrooms in which teachers and students have been provided iPads. Using the Design-Based Implementation Research (DBIR) approach, the practitioners’ and researchers’ work has been organized to address this education improvement challenge from multiple stakeholders’ perspectives, and teams have committed to collaboratively investigate those challenges.
